Scalabrini Village Limited is an incorporated body limited by guarantee. The Scalabrini Village Board consists of individuals with extensive experience and qualifications in their specific area of expertise. In the context of the Commonwealth Government’s reform agenda, the Board has determined that the sole focus of the organisation will be the achievement of excellence in the delivery of residential aged care.
Professor Leroy Certoma
Professor Leroy Certoma has a career covering that of legal practitioner, legal academic, member of State and Commonwealth tribunals and an Acting Judge of the District Court of New South Wales. Professor Certoma’s community activities have included membership of the boards of several Italo-specific organisations. In 2010 he was made a Cavaliere of the Ordine della Stella della Solidarieta’ Italiana by the President of Italy for the institutional offices he has held and service to the Italian community in Australia.
Mr Graham Wright
MBA, FCPA and FCIS. Management consultant for 26 years (health and aged care governance, management and finance). Director of HCF, MU, Hawkesbury District Health Service and Cancer Patients’ Assistance Society of NSW.
Father Delmar Silva CS
Catholic Priest from the Missionaries of St Charles (Scalabrini Fathers).
Current Superior Provincial of the Congregation for Australia and Asia.
Professor Bernadette Tobin
Associate Professor at the Australian Catholic University. Director of the John Plunkett Centre for Ethics and a Director of the Garvin Medical Research Institute at St Vincent’s Hospital.
Mr Barry Smith
Fellow of the Australian Property Institute and a registered valuer. Formerly the New South Wales Director of Colliers International Healthcare and Retirement Living where he was responsible for the sale and purchase of Aged Care facilities and Retirement Villages and has extensive knowledge of the value of this asset class. Mr Smith has spent over 30 years advising on property transactions and matters, both overseas and in Australia.
Mr Paul Taranto
Professional Australian Government career spanning 41 years including as an auditor and senior manager. Mr Taranto has 25 years’ experience in aged care including 12 years as Director, Aged Care Branch New South Wales Office, Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. Former Chairman and member of the Aged Care Planning Advisory Committee.
Ms Jill Pretty
Jill Pretty is a Registered Nurse and holds a Degree in Nursing Management and a Masters in Nursing, majoring in Aged and Palliative Care. Jill also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Jill was employed by Aged and Community Services NSW & ACT (ACS) for 15 years and held the position of Manager of Policy and Consultancy before being appointed as the Chief Executive Officer in 2008. Jill retired from ACS in September 2011. Before joining ACS, she was the Director of Nursing at McQuoin Park, Mercy Family Centre for 12 years. Jill is a Fellow of the Australian College of Nursing and the Australian Association of Gerontology and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
